This run was amazing but really tough. The run started out really windy and that was tough in the beggining and I thought I was gonna wuss out on the run but I remembered that I had decided not to wuss out anymore. About the last 15 mins Julien started helping me and at first I didn't need it and it was slightly annoying, but when we started getting by 2450 park I was extremely grateful for it.

At the beginning of the warm up Corbin asked me if I wanted to do 15 with him and I almost said yes, but then I thought that maybe I could do more and I'm afraid I might start pretending I'm injured. But then I bent my ankle on a curb and only went 5 mins on the warm up. Then I waited for everyone to comeback and did some of the workout until my foot started hurting.

My ankle didn't hurt at all today, I think I can run like normal again. But because I hadn't ran like normal I planned on doing as much of the workout as I felt was good, which I thought would be about 10 mins of tempo. But then I hit that point and I decided I could keep going and I finally felt like 20 was good. My pace was supposed to be 7 min mile or slower but when I was running I didn't really watch but 3f my laps were on 6:40 pace and I don't feel like I changed pace much. Overall I think I'm starting to get back in the swing of things

Aboout 70 mins. I felt good for most of the run and stuck with the team up out of the river trail, but the pick ups were a little hard so I decided to go a little slower and recatch after them and I was doing good at that.  But then Mikey stopped and came up and asked me to go to el bano with him and i said yes. Immediatly after agreeing and crossing the street I realized if I stoppedd my legs would tighten and I would end my run, but I had already screwed myself that way by going with Mikey when I shouldve stuck with the team (sorry Mikey).

Regular morning weights for 30 minutes. Then 15 min morning run with normal loop, but marked the first annual 420 Invitational, finishing with a race that I won. It was only region however, and I'm hoping by the afternoon to return to state and win. I believe the race will be the last of our 200's. Will ammend blog with report of my winning

45 mins. this was a really fun run, although i wish i passed grant on the rollercoaster hills. the hills were hard but it was easy to push through it. but when we got back to sullivans i decided to go to the bathroom and it was one of those where it would only take a couple seconds but someone was in there so i had to wait a little and i think i cooled down while standing there. after coming out of the bathroom i tried to get back into a run but i really had just finished then, so i ran around for about 15 mins to at least get 45. otherwise this was a gr8 run.

90 mins. Was doing fine until we hit the trails with loose sand. Ended up falling back a bit and going pretty slow until I got up that hill some people were struggling on, the first part I saw Colten struggle. After that I decided that instead of flipping I would do the full loop through Middleton and I was going 8:20 pace throughout the desert until I got into middleton. As soon as I got there I was going 7:20 pace until I made it to the Texaco where I stopped for a bathroom break and from there made it back to the school

30 mins. I started the run and could immediately tell something was wrong. It felt like a tendon or my IT band or something was grinding against the joint in my hip and was getting really tight. I decided I should probably take it easy and avoid injuring too bad.

55 mins. Started off really good. My hip was still hurting but it didn't feel like it was grinding and it was super easy to ignore. The first mile of tempo was pretty cheese, but the second one took a bit more out of me. As I was shooting for the third lap I was doing fine, but out of nowhere I saw Corbin drop off and all of a sudden it felt like I was running with an anchor. For a second Alex took it from me but it just hit me again and I stopped. I wish I had said I needed to go to the front and let the rest of the team carry the anchor. I'm planning on next tempo to be the time I break through. Weights and 15 mins run

50 mins. Today my hip grinding came back in full force, especially on the hill by the construction area. I fell back for a little bit but then I ran back up and stuck around for a bit. Then I fell off, but I also caught up again. I really just wanted to stop and stretch and get taped and ice. When I saw Jose and Parker flip I thoight I might as well, but if I was injuring myself already I probably should have just stuck with the team for those extra few minutes and got the benefit out of it. I also only did 4 striders because that was when I felt the worst. Planning on icing my hip for quite a while today and doing yoga, as well as anything else that helps

65 mins, lower end of level 2 minutes but it was also my first good and long run in about a month. Near the end my legs started to lock up so i went back with Cooper. It was probably the best feeling and was the first time in a while that when i thought abou running it was just positive.

25 min morning run. need to stretch and roll out, kinda getting tighter.

60 mins afternoon run with 4x 4 minute at 5k pace and 1:30 and 2:15 as well. The first 4 minuter i was really eager and wanted to get back into training with varsity like i had been this summer. i probably should have gone back with some group behind because even after my 4 minute cool the 2 4 minute at 5k pace was horrible and i was going pretty slow. during the cool i was catching my breath when coach yelled at me to refoucs and that kinda gave me a rush and the 3rd one i think i was right where i needed to be.the fourth one started out like that but in the last minute i started falling off. the 1:30 was brutal but i finished that and also got back in with the 2:!5. this workout was really tough and sucked because it felt like every fiber in my leg was trying to run faster than i was. im looking forward to fridays tempo because i think that will be a good opportunity to get a hard workout in and run faster again.

20 min morning run, pretty normal except everyone was antsy and i saw carson was going normal and just letting us go ham so i kinda held it back to save up for the race.

ran whole course for warm up, then race. this was my first good race this season and it was about the time i got at the hurricane road race which during the summer pre-injury (and that felt more like tempo). I think after xc camp and the few weeks after it that i was injured really took a lot out of me and now im ready to actually start pushing past what ive done before. im not exactly where i wanted to be during summer training but after having a descent race i still think i can get there. 3 miles of cool.

75 min run with 8x100 hills. pretty cool way we went out and felt pretty chill the whole time. going back i fell off a little bit but always remained in a safe distance. near the end tho i fell off a bit more but maintained a good pace.

60 min. run. went down on the river trail and then up past target and back. over by strarbucks i was strarting to get low on energy and every step afterthat was me forcing myself forward. i think Coach noticed that too because he made me go get up in the pack. i ended up leading but still all the way back was a lot of pushing and forcing myself forward (not like extremely horrible thos, rough but doable). today was one of my fav runs in a while. lately i havent been finding as much joy in running as i used to so i decided to stop acting so uptight and worried about everything and instead i just focused on running in that moment. it took me back to this summer which was really great and i think i can use this next part of the season as its own mini-summer, whether that be for nike or track. im gonna go and end this season on a positive note.

Alsoo finally getting new shoes probably helped a lot.

65 min run. woke up this morning and had a super sore throat so i got ready fast enough to make myself some broth in a mug and drank that on the way to the high school. the whole time i felt like lumps of mucus in my throat and it was nasty ac. basically kept with the team most of the time then a little past dixie rock i had to go to the bathroom so i turned back and went to the one right by dixie rock. just continued back and saw jose and julien at the door by the high school, asked julien if he got the time and he told me i probs went 70 so i took 5 off for the bathroom. overall a decent run, but not the best and im feeling a little sick. ill be fine tho.

25 min afternoon run with Mikey, we really tried to work on form and i tried not to heal strike and my calves were hurting so im pretty sure i did descent at that

25 min morning run, felt a little tired but thats okay.

60 min afternoon workout. 15 warm, 4 strides, and 5x1000s for workout. the first 2 were pretty basic in getting over. the 3rd was where it got rough. the 4th one was where i really contemplated at least falling off a little because most people behind me were not with the lead group but i made myself stay with them. i did a little over half of the 5th one and i got pretty mad at myself for dropping off but i decided to shake it off and just tell myself that it happens and just to get over it. Julien talked to me afterwards and i told him that lately ive really been focusing on staying with the pack and making sure i never wuss out of anything but today i let myself do it even if it was only for some of the work out. Julien told me that everyone has those days and it made me feel better because i did basically the whole workout just fine and that that was just a thing that happens everynow and then. 10 of cool

Nike race day. The past couple of weeks I’ve been working really hard and looking forward to this day, but the night before I started to get really nervous. I think I was worried that the race would end up like most of my other races and I️ would end up sucking. It didn’t help that i got almost no sleep the night before because people in my room were either snoring or didn’t want the AC on (no offense but I almost went insane). Luckily I just shook those thoughts off as soon as the gun went off and suddenly I knew I was physically ready and had mentally prepared myself throughout the past couple of weeks. The starting shoot was really hectic but I found a pack of Pine View guys and I don’t remember who was all there except Mikey and Scottie. The first mile was actually pretty rough and longer than I expected, but I stuck up in pretty good. The beginning of the second mile was when Colton found me and we were able to push off of each other for quite a while. One part when I was next to him tho some jerk kid shoved me and then didn’t even have the sense to pass me after doing so. That pissed me off hardcore and that fueled me for a while, and then Colton fell off me. Probably from mile 1.5 through 2.5 was a pretty rough chase of Mikey and I would end up catching him and then falling off and it was a battle to always have him within reaching distance. The last half mile came up and I️ was trying so hard to kick but it just wasn’t happening as I wanted. Even when I saw the finish my kick didn’t come in as until later. i still ended up passing Mikey near the finish, but I was pissed at myself because I could tell he had had stomach problems when I passed him and if he hadn’t he would have beaten me. That really made me mad at myself because i feel like for the past 4 week training block like coach was talking about I was pushing ahead of Mikey and should have bean ahead of him earlier. OverallMost of this race was really reassuring and it felt like a lot of hard work had payed off, but it also showed me what I need to work on in racing and to keep working on staying with the team during practice.
